Job Duties/Responsibilities: * Splice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon optic cables. * Construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to: grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing. * Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of task. * Perform work in accordance with industry standards. * Be familiar with BICSI standards, read and follow design engineers' instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures. * Interpret buried underground and aerial telecom facilities in records, on maps and in the field with clarity and detail and make recommendations for changes in running line or construction methodologies. * Maintain inside and outside plant records during installation. * Participate in engineering, permit and construction processes to support project contracts. * Perform routine maintenance. * Recognize and repair route issues including maintenance and hand hole cleanup, and sign placement. * Connect wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles. * Respond to and participate in emergency and outage situations that require heavy construction capabilities. * Ensure that all work considers the safety of the customer and general public and compliance with all governmental orders. * Able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions. * Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation on prints Additional Skills & Qualifications: Good communication skills, proactive mindset. Work Environment: M-F 7-4. Working at various customer sites across the island. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
