The Home & Garden business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Job Summary

Support Product Development projects at the direction of the Master Data Lead to facilitate changes to products currently in the market. Assist in the execution of the new product development processes for product changes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project Management - 60%

    • Identify, plan and coordinate cross functional team activities required to launch changing products.
    • Coordinate project timeline status for cross-functional teams.
    • Create, maintain, and distribute project tracking information.
    • Act as liaison between Marketing, Graphics, R&D, Regulatory, Packaging, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Contract Manufacturing departments.
    • Assist project team in determining solutions and track resource constraints for multiple, concurrent plans.
    • Coordinate projects with International teams as needed.
    • Handle display projects and lead weekly display NPD meetings.


  • Maintain database with regard to project management and item level detail - 25%

    • Entry of project descriptors with emphasis on milestone and KPIs.
    • Assist Master Data Lead on project rollbacks.
    • Maintenance of Item / Material specifications, Bill of Material (BOM) detail and manufacturing SOPs.


  • Organize new product development process and meetings - 10%

    • Support product development meetings, prepare reports, guide discussions and publish action items.
    • Collect and compile statistical reporting for project KPIs.


  • Publish product information via GDSN - 5%

    • Work with 1WorldSync to publish product information to key retailers.


  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Operations Management or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 0-2 years of operations or business experience, preferably in project management
  • Consumer product goods experience preferred

Required Skills

  • High level of organizational skill with attention to detail
  • Experience with Data Base type software.
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Project management utilizing Microsoft Project or similar software preferred.
  • Proactive problem-solving identification; solving problems with the ability to assess risk/benefit and to act decisively on findings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated excellence as a team player both as a leader and member.
  • PC skills (spreadsheet and presentations)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for an office environment (Tuesday-Thursday in the office).
