Your Qualifications:



  • BS degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Electrical/Industrial related fields of study strongly preferred.
  • 10 years minimum experience in manufacturing production supervisory role.
  • Minimum of 5 yrs. experience in manufacturing environment; melt shop/foundry experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal).
  • Team player having the ability to generate enthusiasm and foster team spirit with employees.
  • Ability to adapt easily to change and lead others through it.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required.
  • Possess good understanding of relevant industry codes, safety, and environmental regulations.



Your Purpose:

You will assist the site Melt Shop Superintendent, Routine Facilitators, Improvement Facilitators, and employees within the areas of responsibility including the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and Ladle Metallurgical Furnace (LMF). The major role of this job is to focus on management of daily routines such as 5S, training, standardization, standard audits, analysis of failures, planning of down days, management of consumptions, budgets, and costs. Secondarily, this role will support the Shift Supervisors with the management of their teams (hiring, career progression, scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions). You will work in a steel manufacturing operations facilitator capacity with at least 4 direct reports (shift supervisors). This position reports directly to the Melt Shop Superintendent.

Your Work:



  • Lead by example in complying with all internal and external safety and environmental regulations, policies, procedures, and systems; promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and employee engagement.
  • Develop team members through selecting the right people, building relationships, training, and individual coaching.
  • Set, communicate, and review performance expectations, document findings, establish corrective/development action plans, and ensure training plans are current.
  • Manage Production resources (people, materials, equipment, cost, etc.) to achieve established goals and objectives.
  • Actively participate in the planning / scheduling of crew schedules.
  • Manage relationships with maintenance, reliability, and engineering departments concerning breakdowns, scheduling, major problems, and equipment design revisions.
  • Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and Production data, trends, and reports to identify improvement opportunities as well as to determine causes of nonconformity, production shortfalls and maintenance concerns. Instill a mindset of continuous improvement and problem solving in the team.
  • Monitor and improve performance against key performance metrics pertaining to safety, job quality, process uptime, and cost. Leads the Production failure analysis process and implement actions to address deviations from targets.
