As a Banquet Server on our team, you will complete a variety of tasks which will include:
- Review and understand Banquet Event Orders or Event Plan to ensure banquet rooms are set as per the customer request.
- Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts and cordial carts.
- Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting and ensure guest satisfaction throughout meal service.
- Deliver and serve welcome drinks, food, meals, condiments, and accompaniments etc.
- Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation.
- Remove china, glassware, silverware, etc. from tables at the conclusion of the meal period and deliver to the stewarding area.
- Respond to guest requests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
- Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the banquet/meeting rooms.
- Other duties may be required and assigned from time-to-time.
The position is ideal for someone with the following experience and qualities:
- One to two years of experience in a similar role in an upscale hotel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
- Use judgement and reasoning to cope with emergencies.
- Knowledge and understanding of various banquet and food service techniques and standards.
- Good personality and positive interpersonal skills.
- Dependability and regular attendance.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
