Job Description

The Live Production Manager is responsible for managing the chicken live operations of company owned and contract farms. This position will set the overview strategic vision for Live Production operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Directs and coordinates the efforts of the live operations, including breeder production, broiler production, hatcheries, feed mills, live haul and nutrition to produce least-cost live broilers at the desired quantity and quality to meet broiler requirements of the organization. Birds consist ofNAEwith variable bird weights being produced.
  • Responsible for establishing hatchery and breeder/broiler management programs and procedures to ensure overall production meets Complex and Division volume and cost objectives.
  • Responsible for management of the commodity division operations to include roller mills, fertilizer plants, and the fats and oils facility.
  • Direct and head Animal Welfare initiatives.
  • Maintain excellent communications within department and within the organization with a strong focus of partnership with the Plant Managers within the organization.
  • Directs the Safety initiatives and goals for the division.
  • Key participant with Chicken Business Group in the total planning process including capital requirements.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years' experience managing chicken live operations.
  • BA/BS degree in related field (preferred)
  • Previous experience in the daily operations of Live Haul, Feed Haul, and Feed Mill, Breeder, and Broiler production including Hatchery experience.
  • Must possess working knowledge of the relationship between Live Operations and the Processing Plant.
  • Strong computer skills to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop top talent and create high performing teams.
