ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Effectively manages supports and coordinates projects, with minimal guidance and/or supervision
  • Performs on-going conceptual and detailed mechanical design, design review and engineering analysis in support of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
  • Ensures all objectives regarding specifications, functionality aesthetics, and manufacturability are met
  • Design detailed mechanical components, development fixtures, and assemblies of NPI projects
  • Conduct Feasibility Analysis (FA) of new customer product requirement
  • Develop, improve, and optimize processes that use a variety of semiconductor packaging, electrical, and mechanical process methods.
  • Technical contributor within the development team
  • Provide data, reports, and documentation as needed to communicate progress and archive technical development
  • Collaborate / coordinate with members of the technical staff and other departments
  • Process FMEA plans



EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED


  • Minimum 3 years of working experience.
  • BS degree in mechanical engineering, physics, material science, or related field is required.
  • Innovative and be able to introduce new ideas to meet customer design solutions
  • Strong skill set in mechanical design using Autocad and Solid works 3D CAD software
  • Familiar with Agile design release process and solid background about probe card business is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate as a team member as required.
  • A self-starter, capable of working with little direction or supervision.
  • Experience with Excel, JMP, and other programs effectively manipulating data and presenting results
  • Comfortable using finite element analysis to solve mechanical problems
  • Familiarity with appropriate test and measurement equipment including production wafer probes, automated probers, and tester platforms
  • Background in product structure, BOMs , ePDM, and MRP systems.
  • Background in Probe card design and Electrical/Electronics is a plus
  • Proficient in most common PC based applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PPT, MSProject, and the like)



WORK ENVIRONMENT
Combination of office and manufacturing settings
The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $ 136,200 and $ 178,815. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
