About the Job

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Minnesota Medical School has an opportunity for a part-time (20 hours per week) Research Professional 1. This is a temporary position for one year.

The position will be part of the Schallmo Lab under Michael-Paul Schallmo, PhD. The group is driven to understand how psychiatric & neurodevelopmental disorders affect neural processing, using techniques from visual neuroscience.

Job Duties:

100%:
*Collaborate with PI on regulatory management. This includes preparing and managing IRB modifications, preparing documentation for monitoring visits, maintaining regulatory binder documents (e.g., protocol training log, delegation of authority log), tabulating study enrollment data.
*Coordinate scheduling with participants and study staff, and reserving scheduled equipment / facilities (e.g., MRI scanner time, laboratory testing space).
*Complete data collection and data analysis for a new research project focused on the neural basis of visual snow syndrome. Data collection includes administering computer based visual tasks to collect data in the form of behavioral responses (i.e., button presses), infrared tracking of eye movements, and MRI scanning. Analyses will include data processing, data quality control, statistical analyses, and data visualization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
*BA or BS degree or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four (4) years.

Preferred Qualifications:
*Previous experience working with patients in a clinical and / or research setting
*Previous experience in the field of vision
*Previous experience in scientific research, data collection and analysis
*Strong interpersonal skills

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: The salary range is $22 - $25 per hour, depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 50% Appointment; Temporary for 1 year
