SUMMARY
The Mortgage Loan Closer II is responsible for accurate preparation of the closing disclosure, closing documents, and funding of the loan until purchased by the investor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages assigned mortgage pipelines while being cognizant of service levels, quality and compliance, and client expectations.

  • Reviews file documentation to verify compliance with Bank, regulatory, and investor requirements such as conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and state bond programs.

  • Reviews sales contract for all signatures, loan type, and correct date; validates fees and verifies all attachments or addendums are scanned.

  • Updates the Loan Origination Software (LOS) to match file documentation as it is received; verifies all file contacts have been entered into the LOS.

  • Reviews drive findings from Data Verify and clears any LDP/GSA issues that arise.

  • Runs Mavent and Early Check for any compliance issues and ensures all are addressed appropriately; validates all invoices for closing and balances with a Settlement Agent.

  • Reviews and validates all request for wires submitted by team utilizing existing procedures and guidelines.

  • Assist in the closing and administration of mortgage loans according to established regulations and procedures.

  • Supports all other roles involved in loan origination and processing to accurately gather documents and coordinate with the title company to close the loan.

  • Verifies that loan files meet all applicable regulatory requirements in preparation for loan closing, adherence to disclosure timeframes for Closing Disclosure (CD) delivery, while working with various settlement agents to ensure closings are held on time with error free documents.

  • Provides exceptional turn-time on a high volume of mortgage loan transactions.

  • Provides guidance to other team members to include leadership and mentoring.

  • Recommends and drives process improvements.

  • Assists with peer coaching, development, training, and back-up support.

  • Troubleshoots system issues as they arise.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

  • 4-6 years banking experience with an emphasis on loan processing and real estate lending preferred
