Aon is looking for a Director to join our Catastrophe Modeling - Predictive Analytics team, hybrid in Chicago, IL!

As a senior member of the Catastrophe Management team, you will play an integral role delivering analytics solutions and risk management consulting for Aon Reinsurance Solutions clients. Analytics members are tasked with providing account support to deliver the best of Aon.

Role Responsibilities
  • Understand catastrophe modeling software output for client and prospect portfolio risk analysis.
  • Use catastrophe model output for rate analysis, including developing catastrophe provisions, conduct reinsurance cost allocations, design and develop loss mitigation plans, develop new rating plans, and measure client profitability.
  • Use financial models to design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs.
  • Create professional reports and visualizations to clearly communicate findings to internal and external clients and collaborators
  • Respond to brokers, clients, and reinsurers on issues and questions relating to risk analysis for natural and artificial catastrophes.
  • Provide regulatory support for clients' rate filings.
  • Assist clients in the understanding of catastrophe risks, sensitivity studies, and added analytics based on catastrophe model results.
  • Conduct rate filing, residual market, profitability research and construct industry reports.
  • Conduct research on regulations pertinent to catastrophe risk management
To Be Considered Qualified for This Role
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering or other similarly quantitative or analytically-orientated major, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of direct industry experience in property insurance, actuarial, data analysis or experience in an analytical field; preferably analyzing complex datasets.
  • Excellent communicator, especially the ability to explain complicated concepts.
  • Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning. Ability to think strategically, work independently and take initiative.
  • Proven analytical skills and problem-solving experience.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects, work well independently and meet goals in a timely manner.
  • Advanced user of SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Programming skills in R or Python a plus.
  • Strong visualization software skills (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) a plus.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position is $135,000 to $165,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted to reflect applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
