What you'll be doing...

As part of our responsible business plan, Verizon is developing and launching a newly expanded disaster resilience strategy which is committed to helping communities better prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team seeks a Consultant who will report directly to the Sr Manager - Disaster Resilience and work with project teams and stakeholders to help plan, execute, monitor, & evolve the program.

  • Perform project management duties such as maintaining project plans, tracking deliverables, coordinating with stakeholders on follow-ups, and ensuring action items are completed on time.

  • Support the program manager with the administration of the program budget, including the activities related to processing grants, invoices, and V-cards.

  • Facilitate partner management tasks like contract administration, vendor set-ups, payment processing and onboarding.

  • Communicate consistently and clearly with all project stakeholders, ensuring clarity about the strategy, requirements, timeline, adjustments, and progress.

  • Conduct secondary research and monitor market trends to identify opportunities for the evolution of the Disaster Resilience program.

  • Manage the processes supporting the Disaster Resilience program to identify and implement efficiency improvements.

  • Monitor the results of the Disaster Resilience program and provide recommendations and suggestions for remediation where needed.

  • Organize and facilitate key meetings and events with internal and external stakeholders, including assisting the senior manager with content development.

  • Develop and maintain online resources of information and digital files, including shared drives, partner folders, microsites, etc.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work and/or military experience.

  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage complex programs with multiple stakeholders and workstreams to meet timelines.

  • Team oriented, collaborative, and flexible with proven experience working in cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve and execute sound judgment.

  • Expertise in using Google and Microsoft Office software with strong Powerpoint/Google Slides and Excel/Google Sheets skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, as well as strong oral and written communication.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently; comfortable with ambiguity and able to balance multiple projects and tight deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant discipline, such as Sustainability, Climatology, Emergency Management or other relevant discipline.

  • Ability to think creatively to identify opportunities and develop potential solutions and analyze alternatives in a structured and organized way.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with leading/well-known disaster relief or recovery programs.

  • Understanding of the telecommunications industry.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $86,000.00 and $150,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
