Application Deadline: Friday, May 30, 2025

Your Role

Given multiple talent needs across IDM, we are hiring two Senior Technical Product Managers. One role will be internally focused, responsible for navigating across research and software teams to facilitate definition of software product/tool strategy, user needs & use case development, requirements definition & prioritization, and management of roadmaps.

The other role will be externally focused, centered on partnership with current and future users of IDM tools and resources, particularly in Africa and South Asia, as we work to make our software and methods assets 'global public goods' and improve the experience of our research partners in the community.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager at IDM, you will integrate the plans for research projects and software products, with the ultimate aim of supporting quantitative decision making for foundation teams, the public health community, and African and South Asian partners. You will identify and bring together key internal and external stakeholders (IDM researchers, software engineers, partner program strategy teams, and diverse external collaborators including public health agencies, modeling teams, and other research institutes) as needed to define and prioritize the technical direction and roadmap for IDM models and tools. You will translate concepts into detailed specifications, solution alternatives, or execution plans depending on the stage and needs of product development. You know how to navigate and lead across teams and partners to align and deliver effectively toward shared goals. We need someone who is able and excited to learn new areas quickly, is comfortable with ambiguity and able to develop right-sized process that tracks and communicates progress of programs and initiatives. You have a passion for our mission and commitment to driving it forward.

As part of the interview process, we will assess candidates based on both their interests and the evolving needs of these workstreams. If you have a strong preference for either role, please indicate it in your cover letter.

The activities and requirements described below will have an internal stakeholder or external partner emphasis depending on the internally- or externally-facing variant of the role. The roles will operate in a project-based way, meaning the individuals in these roles will have a changing portfolio of work based on which research and software areas have the high-priority needs. There will be some opportunity to rotation across both internally- facing and externally-facing activities as hires establish themselves in these roles.

This is a 24-month limited-term position. Relocation benefits will be provided.
