Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire an Instructional Designer III to work in the Office of Medical Education.

Responsible for developing, supporting, implementing, and executing the medical education. Work with team members across both campuses (Omaha and Phoenix) and act as the leader of the team, providing direction, oversight, and quality assurance. Work collaboratively with all administrative and curriculum leadership, faculty, and staff in the Office of Medical Education and the Office of Accreditation and Quality Improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Provide oversight of the instructional design team and delegate and oversee the completion of instructional design tasks:



  • Hold regular meetings to establish workflows and improve collaboration across campuses. Communicate with Program Directors regarding the status of day-to-day curricular activities and projects. Provide constructive feedback and provide timely updates to the Program Directors regarding team members' performance.
  • Provide training and support to faculty and staff with various technologies during curricular activities both in-person and/or virtually as needed. Arrange IT support to address classroom technology issues when necessary and communicate ongoing issues with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assist faculty with the development of curricular activities within the medical education curriculum.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of a staff development program that will prepare coordinators to support faculty and students with the educational technologies used in the undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and physician assistant programs. The Instructional Designer III may also be asked to assist leadership in the development, implementation, and execution of faculty development programs.



Qualifications



  • Master's or doctoral level degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field in education.
  • 3 + years of experience working with faculty in education is required. Work experience at medical school or other higher education setting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills that foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Proficient computer skills with a demonstrated agility in the use of educational technologies and learning management systems.
  • Ability to apply the principles of andragogy, experiential learning theory, active learning pedagogies, and the importance of situated or contextual learning to a variety of learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated understanding of best-practices for the design and delivery of synchronous and asynchronous learning sessions in a variety of settings both in-person, hybrid, and online.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deliver content and facilitate learning in an array of active learning environments.
  • Working knowledge of copyright and intellectual property laws.
