Job Description:

Position Summary:

Facility Technician will be responsible for coordinating and performing comprehensive facilities maintenance functions. This includes all infrastructure systems and services (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleanrooms, purified water systems, compressed air systems, BMS equipment monitoring, and security and alarm systems.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct equipment inspections, data analysis, and determine actions to prevent equipment failure.

  • Manages the work order request system and ensures work orders are performed and closed out in a timely and responsive manner.

  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on facilities systems. Ensures tasks are performed on time and according to specifications. Ensures accurate records and applicable documentation are current and organized.

  • Provides a timely response to facility concerns and requests with a high level of professionalism.

  • Performs facilities modifications, including pumping systems, electrical, plumbing, controls, and other related assignments; ensures janitorial and other third-party services are performed.

  • Performs inspections to support facility operations, including safety and HAZOPS reviews.

  • Assists the Manager of Facilities in developing long and short-range plans, conceptual designs, layout requirements, and documentation for the facilities.

  • Executes and coordinates program specifications, requirements for work being performed, instructions, and associated documents.

  • Monitors and inspects construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.

  • Manages suppliers and contractors performing work at the site and ensures services and costs are reviewed and validated.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Traits we believe make a strong candidate:

  • H.S Diploma or GED required.

  • 5-10 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience.

  • Trade certification in HVAC or equivalent is preferred.

  • Self-driven, attention to detail, customer service focused, and balanced in efficiency, quality, and safety.

  • Experience with CMMS is a plus.

  • Experience coordinating with contractors and/or production teams.

  • Experience with common software platforms: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge and experience of at least one of the following: Industrial Water Systems, HVAC, and Industrial Compressors.

  • Knowledge and experience in at least one of the following skills: electrical troubleshooting and safety, water pipe installation and repair, compressed air pipe installation and repair, and chemical resistant pipe installation and repair.

  • Must be able to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

  • Must be able to lift at least 45 lbs

  • Must be able to climb ladders for inspections or perform high work as needed with provided safety gear (>6ft above ground level)

  • Must be able to access and utilize stairways, as needed.

  • Must be able to use electrical and pneumatic tools, as needed.

  • Must be able to work in and around machinery.

  • Ability to periodically work night shifts, weekends (to include rotational on-call), and holidays to support operations.
