SUMMARY: The Materials Analyst serves as a backup to the Sr. Materials Analyst, with responsibilities across production planning, scheduling, raw material procurement, and order management to ensure customer and production needs are met. The role involves close coordination with internal teams, suppliers, and customers, with a strong emphasis on schedule accuracy, material availability, and inventory oversight. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Familiarity with customer and company part numbers, blueprints and drawings. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to work under pressure. Must be very pro-active in approach to the scheduling function. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to use computers with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and LOTUS Notes. Strong Access Database experience is a must. Excellent typing skills required. Must be detail and quality oriented. Ability to work independently with little direction/supervision along with ability to work effectively as part of a team.
