Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Metro Area Sales Representative identifies, develops, and maintains relationships with new and existing customers within an assigned market. This role supports the Metro Area Sales Manager by executing sales strategies, expanding the customer base, and driving revenue growth. The representative proactively prospects and sells temporary waste removal services and other offerings while fostering long-term relationships to exceed growth objectives.They are accountablefor driving acquisition, retention, and renewal of contracts by fostering critical relationships with customers and decision-makers. They are involvedin community engagement activities to promote the Company's services and values, ensuring a positive company image in the local market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Growth & Customer Acquisition:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Identify viable leads, manage prospects, and acquire a new, profitable business to meet and exceed monthly established targeted revenue goals.
    Collaborate with the Metro Area Sales Manager on sales strategies.

  • Participate in customer solicitations, bid preparation, and presentations.

  • Generates and provides sales leads for permanent sales opportunities

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships.

  • Conduct job site visits to understand client needs and meet with potential new clients.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and address concerns promptly. Stay directly involved in complaint resolution and resolve issues as needed in support of the customer and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records and provide status updates on the pipeline of sales leads and clients.

  • Document all sales activities and assist with reports and forecasts.

Collaboration & Team Support:

  • Work with the Metro Area Sales Manager, operations, and internal teams.

  • Communicate with the Metro Area Sales Manager to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Provide feedback on customer needs.

Community Engagement:

  • Builds relationships and increases Company visibility through participation in Company-sponsored activities, trade shows, chamber of commerce events, and other similar activities.

  • Attend networking and association events that can take place outside of normal business hours.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.

  • Proven ability to provide high-quality customer service while selling a variety of products and services.

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Adaptable to changing situations with a positive, solutions-focused mindset.

  • Ability to learn and navigate software systems, such as TRUX, to enter orders and look up basic knowledge questions.

OTHER:

  • Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

  • Day travel to customers and job sites within the Twin Cities metro (50%).

  • Occasional travel and overnight stays to job sites and client meetings (10%).

  • Familiarity with waste management regulations and compliance requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee is regularly required to stand and/or sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time; 50%+. The employee is regularly required to use a computer/laptop/iPad in an office environment with natural and/or fluorescent lighting, navigate between office building floors, and occasionally attend off-site meetings. The employee occasionally may encounter high noise levels, but hearing protection is provided/required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here represent those employees may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Most often, in an office environment, however, job site travel is required. The employee frequently works alone and with others. Frequently exposed to variable work environments, including unique conditions outside a typical office environment. Occasionally exposed to moving machinery, odors, dust, and pressurized equipment. Occasionally exposed to electrical hazards. They may be exposed to environmental conditions, loud noises, and variable weather, including rain, snow, wind, cold, and heat.

Additional Job Description:

Base Compensation: $84,000 - $110,000

The base salary range may vary depending on geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.
