Summary

The Survey CAD Technician (II or III, LSIT) will be able to prepare boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, subdivision plats, parcel and easement descriptions, and tree inventory surveys.

  • Work Location: Hybrid, in office ___
  • Expected Compensation Range: $30-42 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
  • Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently plan and prepare CAD drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Perform research and gather data for new and ongoing projects
  • Process and interpret survey data collected in the field
  • Create and interpret 3D surface models
  • Read and interpret property legal descriptions, easements, and plats
  • Maintain and organize digital and paper survey records
  • Collaborate with planners, project managers, and engineers regarding projects
  • Interact daily with field crews and provide direction and support for ongoing projects

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of survey related AutoCAD Civil3D experience
  • General knowledge of field survey procedures and equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Earth Pro

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in a land surveying related field and/or formal CAD training
  • Land Surveyor In Training
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center
  • MicroStation and ArcGIS experience
  • Previous survey field crew experience
  • Understand construction plans and general construction principals
  • Experience with aerial photo and lidar data processing and extraction (Part 107 pilot license)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment
  • Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
