The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking applications for a full-time Director of Clinical Operations.

This position is responsible for oversight and management of the clinical operations of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic. This includes the clinic's administrative operations, clinic budget management, regulatory compliance, equipment and capital procurement, development of patient communications, outreach, staff management, scheduling and marketing. The Director will develop all appropriate guidelines, policies and procedures related to patient care, research, educational programs, clinical compliance while ensuring all clinical operations and program support the Department and the College of Dentistry's mission.

The minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree preferably in an oral health profession or related field, a Minimum of five years experience in progressive clinical administrative responsibilities in an oral health or healthcare organization, and Knowledge and experience in an electronic health records or dental health electronic. A Masters degree is preferred for this position. An oral health professional degree and/or licensure in a dental related field is also preferred. Knowledge in business process improvement, knowledge of technical dental and oral maxillofacial procedures, oral maxillofacial practice experience and/or experience in an academic oral healthcare environment highly preferred. The candidate is expected to have knowledge of budget management and financial information systems while having an understanding of various claim/billing methodologies. Experience in development of systems requirements and implementation of organization-wide applications along with a background in risk management programs and understanding compliance with regulatory health standards are preferred. The ability to manage people and complex tasks in a busy patient care environment is expected along with good oral and written communication skills, time management skills, stress management, detail oriented, maintaining professional behavior and image, and consistently being flexible and diplomatic.
