**This is a 6 month c2h role that sits onsite in Harrison, NY. This person will be a Data Privacy Customer Service Rep. They need *prior *experience handling the data privacy and security of a companies data and comfortable handling remote work. Conversion salary for this role is 65-85k
*Description* * Assist school district personnel in the use , function, and expansion of specific data applications related to data privacy and security. Use available tools and resources in Data Privacy & Security. Act as a first contact for districts regarding technical support with applications used in the DPSS Service. The NIST Tool, DPSS Training Modules, Infosec, DPIT, SDPC, and phishing-related resources, among others, are key technical tools. * Using available tools/resources in the DPSS - assist school district users in enhancing their Privacy posture. This includes sharing resources - privacy-by-design principles, ensuring data minimization, and adhering to third-party contract requirements for data security (DPA's). All processing/database efforts must comply with FERPA, EdLaw2D, and other security standards, as well as advising on industry best practices (NIST) to safeguard personally identifiable information (PII). * Provide Training on various applications and support districts and our organization. Acts as a first contact for districts regarding technical support used in the DPSS Service. Oversee applications such as SDPC, Infosec, DPIT etc., facilitate data management, ensure compliance, and enhance communication within the organization, districts, NYSED, and vendors. * Work with Data Protection Officers or their staff to support efforts on SDPC, NIST, IRP, DR Plans, DPSS services one on one with districts. This could be done virtually or in person. Support districts on various project such as maintenance of DPIT, RACI Chart(s) and IRP. Main point of contact for DPSS Technical resources Listed in box C2. Ability to gain solid knowledge of the various Data Privacy laws and the ability to implement NYSED regulations in technical systems. Utilize RIC ONE Tools & Resources. * Evaluate the existing applications and resources being used, such as NIST, DPIT, SDPC, DPSS Training Modules, Infosec, and social media applications like LinkedIn and X. Determine how effectively these tools are meeting the current needs of the school districts. Support and review NYSED laws. Assist districts in understanding service offerings. * Assist in creating User Groups and Tabletop Exercises to simulate and prepare for cybersecurity incidents. Assist and develops training material for districts personnel on Ed Law 2d or other Privacy matters. Shares RIC ONE information. Assist districts on data incidents and provide guidance as per NYSED recommendation. Assists with data breach response and NYSED reporting procedures. Recommend procedural enhancements of applications or processes supporting DPSS applications. Reports SDPC issues to the ROC Team. Provide training to districts. * Share and discuss problems with applications. Support districts in their understanding of additional services offered by the DPSS. Reports SDPC issues to the ROC Team. Assist in building awareness various tools used in the DPSS to school district personal. Participate in district/vendor meetings as a representative of the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center * Support districts in their understanding of additional services offered by the DPSS. Helps set up districts on new application and verifies all SLA terms are satisficed Calendar Management: Oversee scheduling, reminders, and promotional activities. DPO Database & ListServ: Maintain, update, and manage communications *Skills* Customer service, nist *Additional Skills & Qualifications* MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either: a) five (5) years of work experience in data processing operations and/or technical support or customer service related to data processing applications or b) five (5) years of experience using an automated financial, human resources or student information system in a school district (such as: Finance Manager, Wincap, eSchool Data, eSchool Plus, Infinite Campus, School Tools, Power School or Office 365) to perform work functions on a daily basis * SUBSTITUTION: Satisfactory completion of 30 college credits* may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the work experience described above. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
