This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department; including staff supervision, issue resolution, individual productivity, and acting as a technical resource. This role provides ongoing support and developmental guidance by analyzing performance metrics, providing performance feedback, and conducting training and other educational opportunities. This role ensures compliance to all relevant regulations such as HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid and billing standards. (This role may be responsible for oversight of a union/contracted site).

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Coordinates the day-to-day support for staff and department
  • Addresses staff turnover, education, and training
  • Provides feedback to employees through formal and informal coaching
  • Manages performance issues and reviews. Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
  • Assess training needs and conducts training or other educational opportunities
  • Analyzes performance metrics to locate and resolve trends and issues
  • Monitors and reports staff quality and productivity by completing monthly audits
  • Interview, hire and mentor new staff to achieve peak performance
  • Manages timekeeping and attendance
  • Acts as technical resource to staff and patients
  • Proactively identify, address and resolve issues and concerns
  • Completes monthly 1:1's and Rounding's to maintain consistent engagement with employees
  • Oversees and guides the work of employees. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Works with the manager to provide program and staff development as identified
  • Collaborates with the manager to establish policies and procedures
  • Organize and produce effective in person staff meetings throughout the year
  • Executes and implements approved budgets and financials
  • May be responsible for communicating developed budgets and managing to the developed budget
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
  • 1+ years of Billing Claims experience
  • 1+ years of claims and AR resolution operations experience in a healthcare setting; particularly multiple hospitals/physician practices
  • 1+ years of experience with demonstrating ability to lead teams, complete time sensitive projects and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work onsite from 10am-7pm M-F



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent professional communication skills; both oral and written
  • Proficient with Microsoft business applications
  • Proven flexibility and ability to lead change within department



The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
