Work Schedule/Work Hours: 5-days a week scheduled Mon-Sat

Full Time employees supporting contracts for the Federal government that are covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA) earn fringe benefits according to their Wage Determination. JOB SUMMARY:
The Washer will ensure that all washing and drying of soiled linen is accomplished properly and to ensure the quality of each finished load.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Attend Laundry:


  • Performs necessary laundry duties assigned during shifts to include; loading and operating washer extractors and dryers including setting correct formulas and drying temperatures, ensuring weights are correct for each load and transferring dried good to appropriate folding/pressing area.



Quality Control:


  • Ensures all work is performed at the highest level of quality. In addition, the incumbent will maintain housekeeping and safety standards including the wearing of protective equipment as required.

  • Performs all linen services work functions as needed to maintain schedules.



Relationship Management:


  • Reports to work prepared to accomplish duties as assigned and consistently communicate areas of concern or issues in an appropriate and timely manner to the floor supervisor for resolution.

  • Performs other duties as required by the floor supervisor.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:


  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.



Experience:


  • Previous experience operating laundry equipment is desirable.



Other:


  • The incumbent must conduct self in a professional manner conducive to a product work environment, demonstrate good judgment, ability to interpret and follow instructions, and good hand and eye coordination.

  • The incumbent must be alert by sight, touch and hearing, ability to push and pull moderately heavy mobile carts of up to 600 pounds for short distances, bend, stoop, and lift loads up to 50 pounds at frequent intervals.

  • The incumbent must ensure hygiene, grooming, and dress is appropriate for the job.

  • Some overtime may be required.
