Job Summary:



This position will advise prospective and current students, including Physician Assistant (PA), Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Athletic Training programs, guidance personnel, and the general public about options for financing a Marist education. This position oversees the financial aid and packaging for the PA, DPT and Athletic Training programs. They will also oversee the transfer and international undergraduate populations. In addition, this role is responsible for managing education benefits and endowed and specialty scholarships/grants with the support of the SFS Coordinator.



Minimum Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 - 3 years



Essential Functions:




  • Oversee all financial aid aspects of the Physician Assistant (PA), Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Athletic Training programs including counseling prospective students on financial aid and responding to billing inquiries. Collaborate with Graduate Admission and other offices to best serve these populations (including attending orientation, accepted student events, etc.)
  • Coordinate transfer and international undergraduate financial aid packaging and outreach. Oversee endowed and specialty scholarships/grants with support from the SFS Coordinator.
  • Work in collaboration with HR on the processing of Employee Educational benefits; Coordinate awarding of Tuition Exchange benefits with Admission.
  • Perform financial aid verification. Assist the Director of Compliance with reviewing and processing Professional Judgments (including Unusual Circumstance, Special Circumstance, and Cost of Attendance appeals).
  • Coordinate responses to the main office email (monitor volume, ensure staff respond within appropriate timeframes, assist with responses during periods of high volume, and update auto responses). Oversee the reconsideration process.
  • Coordinate communication and outreach from SFS including award notification emails.
  • Provide back-up support for adult and graduate student financial aid processing.
  • Uphold and maintain policy and procedures for financial aid processing, in addition to assisting with updating or developing SFS Policy & Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Master's degree
  • In a related field.
  • Three or more years experience in the Student Financial Services field.

    • Typical eligibility requirements: 1 year of service and 1,000 hours with Marist University.


  • 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity - Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.
  • Tuition Benefits:

    • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
    • University pays 100% tuition only.
    • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

About the Department/School:



The Marist University Office of Student Financial Services is committed to providing affordability options and managing the equitable distribution of student aid funds. The office coordinates student employment both on and off campus, student billing, and financial literacy. We are dedicated to promoting accessibility through personalized service and integrity.

Normal office hours are from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday), Tuesday and Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. Saturday hours will vary. We encourage our staff to avoid vacations during April, early May and mid-August to mid-September. Extra hours will be required during the beginning of each semester when working with enrollment and billing deadlines. Occasional early morning and evening overage is required. All staff is required to participate during Open House weekend and on two weekends (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays) for orientation for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
