Mission: Quantum is seeking a SATCOM Systems Maintainer/ Integrator - Junior Level 2 to be responsible for leading personnel in preparing, developing, and implementing hardware and software-based solutions for systems in support of integration, development tests, and operations. The SATCOM System Maintainer / Integrator - Junior Level 2 will support development, prototyping, and demonstration at various CONUS and OCONUS sites. They will provide input and support to provide briefings on the status of events or portions of the overall program. The SATCOM System Maintainer / Integrator - Junior Level 2 works under the supervision of a Project Technical / Task Lead and/or SATCOM System Maintainer / Integrator - Senior Level and will assist in leading SATCOM System Maintainer / Integrator - Junior Level 1 in the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities. They may support Engineering teams in development of solutions to system issues, as well as, maintenance, and drafting of engineering / technical data. They execute assigned tasks in a timely manner with little oversight. Responsibilities:
- Perform and lead routine, non-routine, and complex maintenance on the following sub-systems: communications, networking, antenna, power, timing, signal distribution, trucks, trailers, environmental control, and support equipment.
- Integrate and lead integration of program/project-specific hardware and software into systems for specific configurations to support test, maintenance, upgrades and/or exercise events.
- Perform electronic/mechanical technician duties in both maintenance bay and field settings.
- Provide on-site high-level expertise on SATCOM systems.
- Oversee and execute integration of program-specific hardware and software into systems for specific configurations to support test and exercise events.
- Use and oversee use of a wide range of test instruments and equipment to restore systems or improve performance.
- Prepare documentation to substantiate the integration of all aspects of the project.
- Provide input to the Project Lead and the Program Manager on which an analysis of the technologies is made.
- Provide oversight and high-level expertise on maintenance activities or system upgrades.
- Support development, prototyping, and demonstration of various sites; travel and provide briefings on the status of sites, events, and/or portions of the overall program.
- Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documents.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex SATCOM problems.
- Use a wide range of test instruments and equipment to restore systems or improve performance.
- Document and report system status and fix actions.
- Deploy SATCOM systems to support training exercises and contingency deployments in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Implement and ensure adherence to operations, maintenance, and organizational procedures and policies.
- Author, review, edit, and recommend changes to technical, procedural, and training documentation.
- Account for and ensure positive control of critical resources.
- Lead and enforce workplace and personnel safety by identifying risks, mitigating risks, and intervenes to prevent mishaps.
- Provide support (telephonic or otherwise) as required to help isolate and resolve difficult issues.
- Provide formal and informal training to operators and instructors whether team members or customer personnel.
- Travel time: 25% or more

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience integrating satellite communication equipment and software
- OR 5+ years of experience integrating satellite communication equipment and software with a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- OR 3+ years of experience integrating satellite communication equipment and software with a Master's degree in a related field
- Experience / ability to use various electronic test equipment.
- Experience / understanding of commercial communications satellite system standards (e.g., DVBS, DVBS2, DSSS).
- Understanding of radio frequency (RF) systems and components and can read/identify/interpret RF signals on a Spectrum Analyzer.
- Familiarity working with RF waveguides and the associated hazards of high frequency, high energy signals is desirable.
- Understanding of AC and DC power systems.
- Ability to calculate RF cable losses and power budgets.
- Practical, trained technician with skills including ability to run, and terminate cables in a lab or field environment, including cable fabrication.
- Understanding of electrical cable types and limitations (current, voltage, shielding, isolation, etc.).
- Mechanically adept with a good working knowledge and understanding of electronics.
- Experience in reading and developing schematics as well as working with detailed technical documentation and specifications.
- Knowledge of space military applications, and a working knowledge of military and ground operations is required.
- Substantive knowledge of computer/networking and communications experience.
- Experience working independently and leading small teams in an integrated team-oriented, collaborative environment with prototype satellite communication systems.
- Requires an understanding of both theories and principles of electrical, mechanical, RF and software systems.
- Advanced trouble shooting skills for RF and computer network systems.
- Ability to manage time and resources to meet project goals.
- Ability to lead and function well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to react to project to adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an occasionally high-pressure environment.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills; ability to interface with customers at a professional level.
- Demonstrated technical writing skills.
- Familiarity with Information Assurance.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Possess a United States Passport.
- Must possess an active driver's license.
- Possess and maintain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance; with the ability to possess and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance

- Prior knowledge of the satellite communication industry.

- Knowledge of MS Windows client/server and Linux-based operating systems.
- Familiarity with a wide array of test equipment, such as network analyzers, signal analyzers, and signal generators.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visio.
- SATCOM or Wireless/RF Communication Systems experience.
- Experience with system and/or subsystem integration.
- Network Plus Certification, Security Plus Certification and/or Windows & Linux experience.
- Possess and maintain an active Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
