Job Summary

Direct the operations of the Office of the Provost and provide operational support to the entire academic enterprise through leading, planning, and directing complex administrative projects, committees, and planning efforts in support of the academic mission and as defined by the Provost. Provide complex and high-impact problem resolution to the Provost and senior leadership, including matters related to students, faculty, and academic programs. As assigned, direct specific projects, including but not limited to administering and leading the Provost's initiatives. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Executive leadership, faculty, staff, external partners, and administrators. This position typically will advise and counsel: Executive leadership, faculty, and staff. This position will supervise: Assigned staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Direct the operations of the Office of the Provost and provide operational support to the entire academic enterprise through leading, planning, and directing complex administrative projects, committees, and planning efforts.

Job Duty 2 -
Function as the first point of contact on Provost Office/Academic Affairs administrative matters from the unit and cross-campus partners. Receive direction directly from the Provost on administrative and initiative-based matters.

Job Duty 3 -
Direct and supervise the Provost administrative staff team. Manage routine administrative processes on behalf of the Provost and Provost's office and serve as back-up to the Assistant Director on critical business functions such as approvals, when required.

Job Duty 4 -
Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, and Facilities colleagues to address complex operational matters, develop protocols and policies, and advise leadership related to the Provost's areas of oversight.

Job Duty 5 -
Assist the Provost and Provost leadership team with organizing and prioritizing initiatives to achieve strategic goals, monitor and track progress, and drive the execution of deliverables.

Job Duty 6 -
Provide complex and high-impact problem resolution to the Provost and senior leadership for matters related to students, faculty, and academic programs.

Job Duty 7 -
Build cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify issues and achieve a resolution to complex academic affairs and operational matters and involve higher authorities and legal counsel as required.

Job Duty 8 -
Identify process gaps and inefficiencies within focus areas. Gather and synthesize data from various sources to identify potential and existing challenges. Analyze data to facilitate the development of recommendations.

Job Duty 9 -
Attend administrative meetings on behalf of the Office of the Provost and serve as a representative in campus and external meetings. Manage multiple standing relationships and ad-hoc committees/projects.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Eight to ten years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree.

Preferred Experience
Eight to ten years of experience in higher education.
