Chemical Process Operator II (2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.)

Champion the site's safety culture by following all policies related to the storage, handling, and disposal of materials, chemicals and biologics. You will proactively identify and report potential safety issues.

Be directly involved in the manufacturing of innovative scientific technologies that improve the lives of others. You will weigh, measure, prepare, mix, monitor, and adjust chemicals while operating large-scale reactors and other equipment used to produce life science research products. You will collect samples of chemical solutions and perform in-line product testing to resolve simple chemical issues before completing the production process.

Maintain a thorough understanding of required policies, procedures, quality standards, good manufacturing practices, and safety environmental regulations through the development and demonstration of excellent documentation skills as required by local, federal, and company regulations.

Perform basic troubleshooting of large-scale processes. Perform decontamination and prepare equipment for maintenance. Communicate inventory, planning, and quality issues to supervisor or appropriate department partner.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Champion the site's safety culture by following all policies and recommending improvements. Proactively identify and report potential issues. Follow all procedures when handling chemicals to ensure they are stored, transported, processed, labeled, and disposed of according to regulations.
  • Independently operate small and medium-scale equipment for buffers, gels, and other specialty products per standard operating procedures. Includes weighing, measuring, preparing, mixing, monitoring, and adjusting chemicals. Perform in-line product testing to resolve chemical issues.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of required policies, procedures, quality standards, documentation practices, and safety environmental regulations as required by local, federal, and company regulations (e.g., GMP, ISO, OSHA).
  • Prioritize work orders based on product demand and equipment utilization. Communicate inventory, planning and quality issues to supervision. Communicate equipment issues to maintenance, and then clean and prepare equipment for maintenance.
  • Performs transactions in SAP such as: goods issued, goods receipt, tracks and records labor hours, inventory transfers and look-up.


What You Bring:



  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree with a chemical/biological background is preferred.
  • Work Experience: 4-6 years of production experience required, preferably in a regulated environment. Experience with chemical reactors and/or working in compliance with hazardous material regulations and wastewater handling is a plus.
  • Intermediate-level analytical skills and solid math skills are required, with the ability to convert units of measure and calculate ratios.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools - Excel and Word are required. Experience working with ERP systems, SAP is a plus.
  • The ability to speak, read and write using business communication skills is required. (English).
