Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Production Control Manager to be based out of Cartersville, GA. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for performing a wide variety of responsibilities including maintaining inventory, supplies, products, purchasing and coordinating production schedules. This person will be the plant's subject matter expert who will facilitate reviewing customer requirements, scheduling shop floor production and procurement of materials to meet schedule and customer requirements. This person will also ensure inventory accuracy throughout the process by overseeing cycle counts and developing / implementing robust procedures to maintain system accuracy. This role will lead the tactical efforts towards the achievement of the Strategic Plan objectives, with a strong emphasis on cost reduction.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience with inventory, distribution, buyer/purchasing and production manufacturing. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.


What you'll do:



  • Maintain MRP system integrity and over the processing of purchase orders and production orders as suggested by MRP.
  • Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory including transfers, cycle counts, and audits. Support on-time customer delivery and meet inventory turn objectives.
  • Coordinate purchasing department to obtain parts ordered for upcoming production.
  • Identify and help develop improvements to existing operational procedures to maximize efficiency and cut operational costs.
  • Oversee the solicitation of competitive proposals, evaluates RFQs, prepares sourcing recommendations, creates purchase orders, facilitates changes and expedites POs.
  • Reconciles pending invoices and updates master file records as needed.
  • Takes ownership and actively maintains proper order processing, inclusive of DoA, GL accuracy, and data entry.
  • Participates in strategic sourcing decisions to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
  • Outlines MRO purchasing activities for execution by the team.
  • Develop and monitor standard costs for raw materials.
  • Streamlines processes, improves raw material cycle times, and oversees supplier managed inventories.
  • Manages Ad hoc projects and reports to support the development and implementation of MRP systems; manage the databases associated with the procurement modules.


What you'll bring:



  • High school degree required. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience with inventory, distribution, buyer/purchasing and production manufacturing. preferred.
  • Procurement/Supply Chain negotiating experience in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Proficient with MS OS and experience with JDE/Oracle strongly preferred.
  • Experience with inventory control programs and a working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and systems preferred.
  • Strong practical skills within a Lean manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $94,160 - $129,470. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
