This position is located on Roi-Namur on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodations or pets). Benefits of this unique location include free housing, three meals a day and potential for overseas tax incentives.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for ensuring preventative and corrective maintenance for the ALTAIR radar antenna electro-mechanical systems and structural members per maintenance schedule.
  • Assist and oversee maintenance crew to ensure tasks are performed properly i.e. (paint, grease, gear maintenance, oil change, etc.)
  • Maintain operational equipment i.e. (electric motors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings, coax/waveguide components, etc.)
  • Maintain shop equipment i.e. (hand tools, sandblaster, compressor, etc.)
  • Maintain current spare parts inventory and procure parts as required.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance performed.
  • Assist with operations, maintenance, repair, and modification of radar components.
  • Comply with all applicable procedures for storing and disposing of hazardous waste.
  • Make MAXIMO entries into the system tracking operational hours for the antenna.
  • Track property items for the ALTAIR team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Ability to safely climb to heights up to 100 ft. to perform and oversee maintenance activities.
  • Ability to effectively perform maintenance, repairs, and replacement of complex mechanical systems; gear boxes, pumps, motors, bearings, and coax/waveguide components.
  • Ability to effectively use standard mechanical tools.
  • General computer literacy using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and document daily safety meeting.
Required Experience
  • Associate degree in electronics, RF, other technical field or a two year technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two or more years of technical experience.
  • Technical, hands-on work experience with mechanical/electrical maintenance and repairs.
  • Desired
  1. Machining experience using vertical mill and/or lathe.
  2. Rigging and heavy equipment lifting experience.
  3. Experience with PLC.
  4. DC Motor/Generator maintenance/installation experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Garrison - Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, Roi-Namur.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
  • Willingness and physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Willingness and physical ability to work at heights up to 150 feet.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
