Systems Administration Lead
Remote
Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, Operations & Cloud, the Systems Administration Lead role is responsible for the planning, design, and operations of the organization's global IT systems infrastructure according to industry best practices, while ensuring highest levels of data integrity and availability across Public, Private and US Government cloud environments. This individual will develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent system provisioning, uptime, and adherence to regulatory compliance requirements. The Systems Administration Lead is also responsible for capacity planning, project delivery, performance analysis, and developing disaster recovery plans. This role is responsible for managing a growing global team of System Administrators across multiple time zones (domestic and international).
Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Strategy & Planning
Extensive experience in the configuration, installation, and administration of mission critical systems such as Entra/Active Directory, Microsoft M365 (Commercial) & G365 (Government), Windows & Linux Servers and VDI platforms.
- Proven track record with capacity management in collaboration with business partners and company forecast metrics.
- Proven track record of securing cloud environments to US Federal and State requirements - DoD / CMMC compliance experience preferred.
- Proven experience operating, designing and implementing compliance framework, such as SOX, HIPPA, SOC-2, GDPR and NIST 800.
- Ability to interpret compliance controls and develop technical and operational solutions.
- Ability to report on enterprise-wide system status, performance, utilization, trends and business show-back / charge-back.
- Maintain current knowledge of IT related laws, trends, and issues, including emerging technologies and best practices. Develop strategies and policies to ensure best practice based on regulatory compliance while reducing the enterprise's legal exposure.
- Justify expenditures on enterprise IT solutions through business cases, and ROI/TCO calculations.
- Ability to partner with IT Security team to define, communicate, and ensure adherence to compliance policies and create routines for operational best practices.
- Develop and maintain procedures for change management, availability management, backup management, incident management, and process documentation.
Acquisition & Integration
- Extensive experience in managing IT M&A activities, including discovery, strategizing, planning, integration, migration, troubleshooting, and operationalizing support.
- Ability to integrate Microsoft Entra/AD, M365 tenants, Server & Storage infrastructure, SaaS platforms, VDI and B2B/B2C environments.
- Understanding of IT operational processes & policy to support the merging and augmentation.
- Develop SLA's & KPI's aligned with business objectives and elevated customer experience.
Operational Management
- Ensure IT adherence to service level agreements regarding system allocations, limitations, and availability.
- Experience operating DoD IT system environments, security clearance preferred, USA citizenship required.
- Proven track record of implementing and operating ITIL best practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on best practices and compliance requirements.
- Maintain panoptic view of business and other IT projects, initiatives, and trends to align and develop efficiencies where possible in an effort to develop a continuous improvement methodology.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Knowledge & Experience
- In-depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory / EntraID design principles and practices.
- Extensive PowerShell knowledge and experience.
- Working knowledge of NIST 800-171 security framework.
- Experience working with Microsoft Unified/Premier Support.
- Solid experience architecting and supporting Windows Server environments.
- Experience with Azure management with in-depth knowledge of Cost Mangement.
- Experience with building and operating VMWare and Hyper-V High-Performance Compute environments.
- Experience with AWS and Google cloud environments.
- Proven experience in developing, operating, and submitting system compliance reports for governing bodies, legal entities, and/or other external authorities.
- Knowledge of applicable data retention practices and laws.

Formal Education & Certification
- 4-year bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related IT field
- 7+ years working in the IT industry
- 3+ years in a Lead role

Posted Salary Range
USD $140,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
