Job Details Advance Practice ClinicianJob Description Responsibilities: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a skilled member of the Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Division who is qualified by academic and clinical education to provide clinical support and patient care services under the supervision of staff physicians. The responsibilities of the NP shall be approved by the Medical Staff Board. The NP reports and is responsible to the supervising physician, and ultimately, to the Chair of the Department of Pulmonary & to the Medical Director of Sleep Medicine. The principal function of the NP will be to provide clinical support to the Medical Director of Sleep Medicine by opening clinical access for new and established sleep patients. The NP will work closely with the medical director of the program to provide outpatient sessions in the sleep medicine clinic. Core responsibilities include: performing patient assessments, establishing treatment plans, patient/family education, collaboration with other providers, ordering diagnostic testing and/DME, assist with development of protocols, accreditation and ongoing performance improvement projects. This position may have sessions at various practice sites. This position requires providing service to the following age population(s): 19 years and up in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
