Scope of Position The Laboratory Compliance Officer works with the Director-Lab Compliance on all operational responsibilities for the Laboratory Compliance Programs. The Laboratory Compliance Officer is also responsible for preparations for all accreditation and regulatory surveys and maintaining compliance with applicable agency standards. Position Summary The Laboratory Compliance Officer is responsible for all preparations related to accreditation inspections and regulatory surveys, maintaining compliance with applicable agency standards (may include FDA, AABB, CAP, and Joint Commission), and performing monthly audits. This includes tracking laboratory documentation, providing educational materials, auditing records, personnel files and laboratory policies, and offering compliance and regulatory guidance to laboratory staff. Ensures procedures are written, reviewed, and implemented to be compliant with the directives of the above organizations and agencies. The Laboratory Compliance Officer will also serve as QPulse Software Administrator for the Laboratory, Laboratory Liaison, and Safety Officer for the Clinical Laboratories. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Biological Science with Medical Technology certification and 5 years of clinical laboratory experience. Skilled in use of Excel, Power Point, Access, Front Page, Adobe PDF Maker preferred. Experience, education, and/or certification in compliance programs preferred. Ability to interact effectively and as an advocate with physicians, staff, and external parties. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
