Position Summary:

As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will provide training and development support for the New Flyer Group Learning Institute. This role will be responsible for the design and development of training programs, courses and business development needs.

What You Will Do:

  • Consult with and support business units/departments and Human Resources to identify, plan and implement resource selection, training and development requirements as driven by the strategic performance needs of the organization.
  • Work with the leadership team to define performance requirements and identify training and development needs.
  • Research, design, implement and maintain standardized, comprehensive training and development programs and documentation based on identified organizational and affiliate needs, changes in culture, products, procedures and services.
  • Provide training to all levels of the organizations well as external learners as identified and requested by the training team.
  • Negotiate training programs, source materials and delivery methods.
  • Design, develop and instruct curricula (classroom/ or On-the-Job (OJT)/Mentorship) utilizing instructional design techniques, including use of learning objectives, lesson plans, teaching aids and assessment materials.
  • Analyze performance measures in order to identify training opportunities and to assess the impact of training.
  • Analyze measures of performance (MOPs) relevant to the area of specialization, root cause and determine if relevant training interventions are necessary.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of applicable training effectiveness methods such as evaluation, validation and cost benefit analysis in order to set and meet training performance goals.
  • Maintain a training inventory, schedule courses, and develop course outlines, manuals, training aids and documentation in conjunction with curriculum designers.
  • Identify, develop and monitor resources required to assist in the classroom and/or on-the-job training process.
  • Administer and maintain various contracts and programs from outside training service providers.
  • Will provide Learning and Development Specialist support other areas and locations as needed.
Requirements
  • Certificate or diploma in Adult Education or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a training role, identifying, developing, implementing, sourcing and delivering training
  • Design, delivery and implementation of Leadership and professional development programs
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills are essential
  • Ability to converse in a professional manner and collaborate with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and possess initiative to seek improvements
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Travel required, approximately 10%
