JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $24.50 per hour

1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7 am-3 pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Associate oversees the day-to-day operations of blend plant and blend associates, ensuring efficient operation. Associate allocates resources to maintain production of mixers and provides expertise in handling blending issues and problems for production facility.

  • Operates mixers to blend raw ingredients to required formulations
  • Performs press outs of top cap to verify color
  • Maintains raw materials
  • Delegates tasks for blending associates
  • Produces shift reports to include silo levels, quality audits, manpower reports, productivity levels
  • Serves as point of contact for scheduling, placement and unloading of rail cars
  • Notifies supervisor of any materials problems and works to resolve them in a timely manner
  • Oversees housekeeping of blend plant
  • Communicates with previous and following shifts' Cell Team Leaders about product quality, problems, and status of work in progress
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed
  • Complete accurately and legibly all blending paperwork
  • Operate mobile equipment as trained and required
  • Punch time clock before and after shift to record time worked
  • Observe health and safety practices when handling bacon strips
  • Escalate and follow up on issues in a respectful manner with other departments and management
  • Build trust with others and take initiative to solve problems
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required
  • Identifies problems and works with maintenance department to correct
  • Responsible for overseeing preventive maintenance on mixers, i.e. scrape outs of coolers, shakers tables, screens, sock changes
  • Actively participate in all plant safety programs
  • Notify Supervisor if proper tools are not furnished to complete job functions
  • Possess or develop interpersonal skills to lead others in the department
  • Model CBB philosophies of interconnectedness

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate/GED
  • 1 year working in Blending Department, Mobile Equipment experience
  • Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require
  • Proficiency in all areas of blending process required
  • Must be able to perform functions of Blender 1, 2, & 3 positions
  • Must possess computer skills to work fluently with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and other programs
  • Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance
  • Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player
  • Must be able to work quickly with product and able to lift up to 86lbs on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist and ability to team lift 87 to 100lbs
  • Must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to concentrate for sustained periods
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to properly direct and interact with people
  • Extensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking
  • Extreme weather conditions
  • Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and heavy contact with material dusts
  • Position requires continual walking, standing, pulling, and heavy lifting
  • Daily climbing to the top of material silo is required (90 feet)
  • Required personal protective equipment and some hand tools inclusive of but not limited to utility knife and basic hand tools
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Mobile equipment certification required
  • Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times
  • Additionally, the proper discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each Associate's performance appraisal
