An opportunity to assist in the engineering for the COLUMBIA Class Strategic Weapons System (SWS) programs US and UK based Training Facilities. As part of the engineering team, engineers have the opportunity to participate in a fast paced and technically challenging program. Engineering tasking varies, but includes tasks such as development and qualification of new components and systems, supporting facility construction and testing, and supporting any issues with the Trainer-unique SWS experienced at the US or UK Trident Training Facilities (TTF). A successful candidate will have the opportunity to understand the entirety of the Trainer-unique SWS and associated system requirements. Responsibilities include: resolution of technical problems on electrical, fluid and mechanical systems, components and structures associated with Strategic Weapons Support Systems (SWSS). Supporting development of Trainer-unique SWS modifications including engineering support for development of design, development of test programs and procedures supporting installation. Specific technical areas include: compressible (gas) and incompressible (water, oil) fluid systems, electrical systems, and operating mechanisms. Additional responsibilities include support for resolution of both US and UK TTF Requests for Information (RFIs), Problem Reports (PRs). Travel required to support work assignments may include support of programs at Bangor, Washington, Kings Bay, Georgia, and the United Kingdom, but primarily will support US and UK Trainer support efforts in New London. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering (or related technical degree)
