Job Description Summary:
The GW Office of Undergraduate Admissions is dedicated to guiding thousands of students from around the world through the admissions process each year. The goal of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is to create a class of students who will pursue academic excellence, thrive in our dynamic environment, and make lasting contributions to GW and the world.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking an Admissions Associate to provide operational and CRM (Slate) support while engaging in key aspects of admissions, including application review, recruitment, and high-level customer service. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in developing their skills in admissions operations, CRM technology, and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service / Counseling

  • Serve as a primary contact for prospective students and families through phone, email, and in-person interactions, providing guidance on application procedures for domestic, international, first-year, and transfer students.
  • Act as a liaison between prospective students and other university offices (e.g., financial aid, academic departments), exercising tact and diplomacy to resolve complex inquiries.
  • Proactively reach out to families to resolve issues related to application review.
  • Direct prospective students and student staff to appropriate resources for resolution of questions and concerns.

Application Review & Data Management

  • Review 500+ first-year applications annually, under the supervision of a second reader, and participate in two transfer application review cycles.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the admissions portal and Slate communications, ensuring smooth and accurate applicant communication and updates.
  • Provide application review for 500+ first-year applicants under the supervision of a second reader;
  • Provide application review for transfer applicants in two cycles annually;
  • Provide CRM (Slate) and SIS (Banner) support to improve functionality of portal and email communications and to guarantee the accuracy of student admissions and educational records.

  • Participate in on-campus recruitment programs, such as Your GW in the fall, and yield events like Inside GW in April.

The position is based on GW's Foggy Bottom campus in Washington, DC. Occasional evening and weekend work is required during high-volume periods. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
