Village Outreach Liaison - ASRC Talent Solutions


JOB SUMMARY
The Village Outreach Liaison supports the Client's Alaska's operations, development and exploration teams, ensuring that community concerns are understood and communicated to project team, provides advice on approaches and strategies for addressing these concerns and supports implementation of company priorities as well as compliance with permit and consultation requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Support Village Outreach Director in providing the Client's Alaska operations, projects and explorations teams with timely advice on community concerns, management of issues and long term planning.
  • Assist with communications with Alaska village stakeholders on operational and pipeline safety, emergency response, and project status reports.
  • Provide project and construction teams with community and cultural awareness training.
  • Coordinate local subsistence representatives, and ice road monitors.
  • Coordinate field tours for local entities and assist with village events.
  • Participate in helicopter communication program and assist Environmental Studies contractors with field activities near Nuiqsut.
  • Assist with Client local hire and career quest programs including identifying local hire candidates and mentoring them during employment.
  • Assist with community meetings, city council meetings, community events and advisory groups.
  • Assist with compliance with permit stipulations to include consultation requirements, economic opportunity plans, and other stakeholder agreements.
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right.
  • Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical.
  • Listens actively and invites dialogue for shared understanding, then influences and acts to drive performance and achieve results.
  • Builds strong relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of North Slope oil field experience
  • 1+ years of experience or training in project management processes and tools
  • Intermediate level knowledge of North Slope and other Alaska rural communities
  • Intermediate level proficiency with MS O365 application: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work in a remote based environment working a 2-week on/2-week off schedule


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree or higher in Business, Communication or Engineering/Science related discipline or foreign equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience working with issues affecting indigenous populations
  • 1+ years of experience working with contractors to achieve business goals
  • 1+ years of experience in stakeholder engagement
  • Advanced level proficiency with MS O365 application: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Advanced level social skills; ability to maintain positive relations with team members, external stakeholders, internal business partners, & regulatory agencies
  • Advanced level communication (written, oral & presentation/PowerPoint) skills
  • Intermediate level understanding of Sustainable Development principles
  • Ability to work several short & long-term issues or projects concurrently

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:



  • Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam
  • Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
