Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading a data management, reporting, and analytics team for the Business Reporting Services organization which is responsible for development of operational and performance analytics for the Carolinas, Florida and Midwest with a focus on reliability, safety, and operational excellence for operational groups including Distribution, Transmission, Veg Mgmt, and the States Presidents. More specifically the responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for governance of operational and performance reporting including, defining and driving consistency across the business units and functions

  • Work with IT on design, development and support of data warehouses to support business needs.

  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills with a variety of technologies; Strong technical skills are necessary

  • Drive the organization to common reporting solutions that help make better business decisions and operate more efficiently

  • Develop and implement solutions that allow the business units better access to data and information

  • Partner and support major system consolidations and implementations to drive common operational and performance reporting solutions

  • Understand business process and partner with subject matter experts to ensure highest quality of data in our data repositories

  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of data needed to support the business

  • Experience in the utility sector specifically in the areas of Outage Management and key reliability measures like CAIDI, SAIFI, and SAIDI

Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and direction for development of operational and performance reporting for Duke Energy's region business units including businessstaffing decisions, work assignments, and review of the group's work product

  • Provide leadership and direction for the development and implementation of processes and programs to ensure goals and objectives are tracked with approved standards, practices, and procedures. Responsible for the development and implementation of plans that deliver best in class reporting, support, and analytics solutions

  • Provide consistent and coherent communication with internal and external stakeholders to support the utility and business unit objectives and initiatives

  • Supports and provides leadership in corporate safety, regulatory, and financial goals.

Basic/Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree AND seven (7) years minimum required related experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration

  • Experienced Leader, Technical experience with Microsoft Development Tools like Power BI, Power Automate, Amazon Cloud, etc.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated strong negotiation and influencing skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively, achieve consensus and move ideas forward in the organization

  • Skilled in the application of continuous improvement methodologies

  • Electric utility experience required, experience with operational processes in the areas of Transmission and Distribution

  • Understanding of IT systems, data warehouses, and processes.

Working Conditions
  • Hybrid Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.

  • 3 days in office; flexible
