The pay for this position ranges from $115000 - $125000.

Summary:

We are searching for a highly motivated, forward-thinking and experienced individual to join the Manufacturing team of FuelCell Energy. The successful candidate will play an integral role in driving change and helping to build a world class manufacturing facility

Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Directs the development and implementation for activities in production area to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on customer demand, product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas
  • Selects, develops and evaluates production personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Makes budgetary recommendations and at higher levels, controls capital and expense expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
  • Daily management of a 2-shift operation of production staff overseeing 4 departments, including but not limited to safety / ergo issues, ISO / Quality requirements, manpower and labor, materials management, product manufacturing.
  • Provides weekly reporting to Senior Management.
  • Responsible for accounting and coordination of raw material and finished inventory within assigned areas
  • Responsible for employee performance, team motivation and morale
  • Responsible for ensuring all training documents exist for processes in the department, operators are properly trained and accurately documented in the company's system.
  • Lead / co-lead a multi-functional product team
  • Implements technical changes and process improvements demonstrating effective leadership and management of department resources
  • Drives production integration and documentation of changes in product/ technology as it relates to assigned areas.
  • Identifies and quantify opportunities for process improvement, define goals, propose solutions, and support active projects to implement desired improvements.
  • Attends pertinent technical meetings and report as required.
  • Provides backup support for other managers within the organization as requested.
  • Ensures accuracy of employee timekeeping



Qualifications and Experience:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. Engineering or related field preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role including managing salary and hourly direct reports.



Skills and Experience:



  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast paced, cross functional, team-oriented work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to manage a team effectively with a strong orientation to developing and growing talent
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage multiple priorities
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and experience leveraging Lean tools.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft office. Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with Access is a plus
  • Experience in a high-volume production, automated equipment environment is a plus.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead and drive change.


Work Environment / Physical Requirements



  • Able to move effectively and timely in and around 70,000+ square foot cement floored manufacturing facility
  • Able to move effectively and timely between external office buildings
  • Be able and willing to wear required personal protective equipment as designated such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and other PPE as required
  • Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
  • Ability to travel to vendor locations as required
