Temp/Seasonal Job Openings

Prince William Water is currently recruiting for the following several temporary (summer) positions.

TEMPORARY FULL-TIME SEASONAL POSITIONS

• 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK
• Most positions approved up to 6 months

Position Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

• Ability to operate small equipment such as lawn mowers and weed trimmers.
• Ability to paint.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others as well as in a team environment.
• Assists maintenance crews in the absence of personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned (i.e. wash trucks, clean shops, etc.)
• Some experience in grounds and building maintenance and/or painting.
• Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license with a satisfactory driving record according to Prince William Water policy.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Physical demands: The work is regularly active with periods of heavy exertion. Position requires workers to walk or stand for long periods; may lift and carry up to 60 pounds; climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding; bend, kneel, crouch and crawl; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; feel the size, shape and temperature of items; and operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak clearly, to see and hear clearly with or without correction, and to detect odors.
• Work environment: Primary work is performed in shop or field settings and outside. Employees are exposed to dirt and soil; unpleasant odors; working outside in hot and humid conditions, or in inclement weather; and to hazards in the work.

• Perform light vehicle maintenance.
• Shuttle vehicles for emissions inspections.
• Pick up parts.
• Assist with auto inspections.
• Assist with work order documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license with a satisfactory driving record according to Prince William Water policy.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Typical positions require workers to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs, ladders or scaffolding; bend, kneel and crouch; hold, grasp and turn objects; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.
• Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is subject to frequent interruptions and workers are exposed to dirt and soil.
