*W2 ONLY - UNABLE TO UTILIZE C2C RESOURCES* *Top Skills' Details* *Years of Experience: 7-10 years RF design* 2+ years experience with ATOLL -Must be local - Must have FAA Regulatory experience - In-building DAS Systems *Description* Engineer-RF - III The In-building Venue RF Design Engineer is responsible for contributing in the RF Design of the regional wireless in-building and macro network. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Create site design RFDS and complete plumbing diagrams. - Perform radio engineering evaluations for system planning and site acquisition. - Evaluate coverage problems and requirements for coverage and capacity cells. - Utilize propagation tools and other RF related equipment such as MapInfo Google Earth ATOLL iBwave for site candidate comparison propagation and coverage review and selection zoning and regulatory. Determination of regulatory coverage boundaries for extensions FAA/FCC filings. - Review of cell sites and design for upgrades/modifications. - Design in-building DAS systems in iBwave and review approve designs created by others. - Interact and guide 3POs and vendors in creating in-building designs. - Support commissioning and activation of in-building DAS systems. - Perform testing to confirm implementation matches approved design and provide acceptance. - Creates search areas and reviews search area candidates within geographic area by taking into consideration performance issues capacity topography and population. - Working with the performance team to improve Key Performance Indicators within the area of interest. - Works closely with real estate team to increase efficiency minimize cost and streamline processes related to site acquisition leasing and zoning submissions. - Conduct RFE analysis generate required reports and documents and ensure 100 compliance to RFE mitigation standards within the allotted time frame. - Determine the required antennas for planned frequencies and their optimal positions. - Determine the required cable antennas and equipment to implement macro and small cell wireless network clusters. - Automate processes when opportunities arise and share information with the teams. Tools Experience Required: Advance Experience demonstrated ability to use Atoll iBwave Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Tools experience: iBwave certification Fuze Roofmaster SQL Visio Ericsson performance tools Visual Basic macro creation *Skills* rf design, atoll, ibwave, microsoft office, visio, sql, google earth, visual basic, design, wireless, radio frequency, rf engineering, rf, telecommunication *Additional Skills & Qualifications* DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE: 4G 5G network design and implementation of tasks and knowledge related to: antennas good understanding of band performance capabilities and limitations. Demonstrated understanding of LTE KPIs and impacts of design on them Different types of losses and mitigation techniques. Methods to calculate antenna gain and free space path loss. The effects of outdoor terrain and indoor structures such as walls floors and ceilings on signal propagation. Understanding and use of topographical maps and digital terrain databases. Antenna system design and use including antenna types examples might include Hex/Octo port panel cross-pol array etc. antenna patterns gain and EIRP ERP antenna size antenna polarization receive and transmit diversity MIMO antenna systems and proper antenna installation to provide for coverage and interference mitigation. Macro site design considerations in urban sub-urban and rural environments. Small cell design considerations in urban and sub-urban environments. In-building design considerations in commercial buildings conference centers and sports venues.
