Job Summary: The Product Engineer is responsible for technical & production support and process & product development. The Product Engineer will lead highly complex projects producing new designs and processes using Lean tools and methodologies to positively impact the business metrics. This role is not available for new/future sponsorship, transfer, or renewal of nonimmigrant work visas. Responsibilities:
- Owns all technical aspects of assigned components and associated processes.
- Uses project management skills to lead assigned projects & programs
- Collaborates effectively to develop robust manufacturing processes that meet all stakeholder deadlines and expectations.
- Publishes technical reports, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
- Develops KPIs to effectively manage process and product outcomes.
- Identifies process, tooling, equipment improvement opportunities; drives development and implementation of improvements
- Coordinates prototype submissions with relevant personnel for approval.
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials or Chemical Engineering or a similar discipline
- 3 years or more working experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- A self-starter with excellent communication skills that thrives in a collaborative environment
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of FAA guidelines for PMA requirements and compliance testing
- Knowledge of gas turbine manufacturing processes such as thermal spray, EBPVD, diffusion coatings, precious metal plating, heat treatment, chemical cleaning and stripping
- Experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, design thinking methodologies
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software in Minitab or similar; experience in CAD software (NX preferred)
