Summary:
Serves as single-point-of-contact for CenterPoint Energy's large industrial natural gas and/or electric distribution customers. Responsible for establishing and maintaining customer account relationships with the Company. Duties include: project management, issues resolution, communication of company tariffs, standards, policies and communicating with customers on energy related issues.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Sells standardized and non-standardized energy products and services profitably to targeted end-use markets.
- Review and analyze customer requested nonstandard service arrangements and provide agreement letters and contracts as required to reflect final negotiated service arrangement.
- Manages the on-going business relationships with assigned customer base by maintaining regular contact, promoting incremental products and services, resolving customer issues, negotiating creative customer solutions and renewing expiring contracts.
- Supports the internal service delivery system by working cooperatively and effectively with all members of the service delivery team.
- Provides all information necessary to service customer agreements and ensures completion of all necessary customer agreements.
- Communicates effectively with customers on an on-going basis and meets or exceeds customer touchpoint metrics through all means of communication including site visits.
- Supports local and regional Economic Development initiatives.
- Maintains a high level of visibility in the economic development community by staying actively engaged through various communication channels and fulfilling CenterPoint Energy board level commitments as necessary.
- Represents CenterPoint Energy at various industry conferences, and national trade shows.
- Improves the customer experience by onboarding customers and connecting them with programs and services and appropriate points of contacts, while helping with issues resolution, as needed.
- Coordinate customer and Company requested outages and respond to scheduled/unscheduled outage as needed.
- Develops relationships with community and civic leaders so that CenterPoint Energy is regarded as a strong corporate citizen. Must be flexible to attend functions outside of normal work hours to represent CenterPoint Energy.
Education:
Requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics or engineering from an accredited college or university, OR a combination of education or experience providing equivalentknowledge, such as two years of college and two years of experience or one year of college and four years of experience, in addition to the experience requirements.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of two years of experience in a sales or marketing capacity, ORequivalent energy industry related experience.

Physical Requirements:
- Able to operate a vehicle and comply with all governmental driving regulations and company driving policy requirements.

- Able to operate cellular telephone and office machines including telephone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, calculator, etc.

- Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Working Conditions:
- Able to work in a fast-paced office environment with a high-volume workload and frequent, short deadlines that may require more than a 40-hour work week to meet established deadlines including working nights or weekends, as required.
- Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
- Able to travel to appointments across territory to meet with customers and potential customers.
- Able to travel as necessary, with occasional overnight stay required.
- Able to operate a motor vehicle, including ability to enter and exit the vehicle unassisted.
- Able to support the Emergency Operating Plan.
