Purpose

Responsible for administrative, pedagogical, budgetary, and operations functions for the Camp Shakespeare Program.

Responsibilities
  • Logistics: Duties include covering administration and program functions, securing housing for student residencies, daily program and performance spaces. Coordinate with the Briscoe Center on the Shakespeare at Winedale archives. Coordinate with Travel Management and UTDrivers for all aspects of vehicle rental and UT driver requirements. Liaise with Youth Protection Program administrator ensuring all YPP requirements are met. Liaise with CoLA development staff regarding donor/donations/fundraising initiatives.

  • Program Director: Recruit, train, hire, and supervise camp employees. Responsible for pedagogical content and delivery, ensure educational and outreach milestones are met for campers ages 11 -16. Recruit, interview, accept, and orientcampers in compliance with YPP and program directives. Provide 24/7 on-site leadership during all camp sessions in Round Top, TX.

  • Fiscal Management: Create budget and financial reports for all aspects of the program. Process all VC1s through DEFINE for the camp fees paid by parents via Ideal Logic Registration. Responsible for managing the Camp Shakespeare at Winedale ticketing system and Box Office protocols. Oversee and manage Camp Shakespeare specific endowments, which includes a two-year endowment campaign and a Legacy Challenge campaign. Monitor endowment use for compliance. Manage individual donor relationships and records. Develop and execute a comprehensive and broad marketing plan, public relations strategies, and social media for Camp Shakespeare at Winedale. Lead three fundraising campaigns during the year. Research, write, and oversee grants to assist with program funding and local, state and national recognition of program.

  • Other Duties as Assigned: Other related functions as needed to support all programs within the Shakespeare at Winedale umbrella, including all Shakespeare at Winedale program events in Round Top, TX.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Five-plus years experience administering a residential, seasonal camp for minors. Demonstrated capability in decision making, conflict management, budgeting and strategic planning. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, and an ability to act as a facilitator.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than 5 years experience administering a residential, seasonal camp for minors. Experience with providing supportive, engaging environment for minors ages 11 - 16. Experience designing lesson plans and planning/directing theatrical productions. Familiarity with the Shakespeare at Winedale philosophy of learning through performance. Experience with fundraising, interacting with donors and cultivating new donors. Experience working with youth protection policies/officials to maintain a safe environment for minors.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$60,000

Working Conditions
  • Work varies in the physical effort required from light to moderately heavy.

  • May work around standard office conditions.

  • Travel to Round Top, TX, as well as to local area schools required.
