Position Summary
This position performs manual work in the custodial care of Rock Eagle 4-H Center buildings and facilities. This includes cleaning and caring for building areas. Buildings include venues, cabins, public facilities, and other units located on Center. The primary responsibility is for the effective use of proper methods and materials in cleaning and building setups. The individual works without close supervision and follows well established routines and procedures. The person in this role participates as a member of the housekeeping team at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, which is built on relationships, respect and the pursuit of excellence.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
  • Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning material for different types of building surfaces.
  • Attention to detail is a must as well as excellent customer service.

Physical Demands

  • Climb stairs and ladders; bend at the waist and knees.
  • Lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Work from a ladder and work with arms and hands overhead.
  • Work long hours at manual tasks in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Driving as needed to perform job duties.

  • Prepares and cleans cabins and meeting spaces based on guest's request, including making beds, setting tables and chairs.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuuming floors.
  • Clean counters, mirrors, and restrooms.
  • Replenishes supplies in supply closets as well as restrooms.
  • Empty trash.

  • Cleaning public areas, restrooms, and drinking fountains.
  • Including administration office, dining hall, auditorium and other public areas.
  • Assist with routine and quarterly cleaning such as washing windows, wiping baseboards, shampooing carpet, and dusting.
