Manager, Community Relations

HealthPartners is hiring a Community Relations Manager. This position manages people, teams and budgets for community relations and community health priorities across the organization. This position works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, providing work direction to staff, balancing multiple work plans and budgets. This includes balancing multiple projects, programs, and partnerships, building lasting relationships based on trust, to enhance our work with communities to improve health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

o Bachelor's degree preferably with a major in Community or Public Health, Health Education, Nutrition, Communications, or related field.

o 5 years progressive experience leading community health programs, communications and partnerships

o Minimum 2 years of experience in community or health program planning and delivery

* Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

o Valid driver's license with access to personal vehicle for driving between office and community locations throughout the metro area.

* Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

o Deep knowledge of community and public health needs assessment, program develop, communications and evaluation, including community benefit.

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentations and health communications for a variety of target audiences.

o Strong relationship building skills with community partners.

o Strong interpersonal and communication skills

o Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and complex environment, managing multiple priorities and partners.

o Superior organizational skills with ability to organize large amounts of supporting materials, prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.

o Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

o Cultural competency & a comprehensive understanding of issues of health equity, diversity and inclusion.

o Ability to lift 20pounds and be physically active loading, unloading and delivering materials to community partners and assisting with event set up and tear down.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

o Advanced education such as MPH, MS or Registered Dietitian highly desirable

o Previous leadership or supervisory experience

o Proficient with data in Excel spreadsheets and graphing and data visualization.

o Experience with health promotion program evaluation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Fosters and manages the community relations, partnerships and collaboration to advance progress with community health priorities



  • Works closely with the VP of Community Health and Partnerships, local hospital leadership, Communications/Marketing, Foundation leaders, care system, health plan, institute and other internal stakeholders.
  • Builds trusted relationships with community partners including schools, business, public health, government agencies, nonprofit organization and other community partners.


2. Develops and manages detailed project plans, timetables, resources, tracking and communications to meet all deadlines.



  • Manages community relations and community health activities including:

    • Community Benefit activities and reporting
    • Community Health Needs Assessment and reporting
    • Community investments
    • Volunteerism
    • Charitable giving activities
    • Program and sponsorship budgets, ensuring excellent stewardship of resources from multiple sources.
    • Timely development of communication plans for websites, social media, newsletter, email and community channels, working closely with Communications/Marketing.
    • Communicates Community Health and partnership plans, goals and results to internal and external stakeholders and partners.
    • Develops and utilizes appropriate evaluation metrics and tools
    • Serves as a key contact for community relations.
    • Represents HealthPartners on community collaborations with shared goals.



3. Contributes to the total effectiveness of the Community Health and Partnerships team by setting communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member.
