*Description*
This role is required for data center lifecycle management, lab engineering assistance and processing of received capital shipments to ensure appropriate Service Now tickets are promptly updated so that vendors are timely paid for goods and services. The primary responsibilities for the contractor will be as a Lab Administrator at the data center in Billerica, MA will include receiving hardware, checking it against established receiving procedures, upgrading firmware in engineering facility, and performing asset management data entries within the inventory system. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for maintaining and administering hardware, including configuration changes and upgrading firmware. Those tasks will include responding to engineering requests via ticket systems, troubleshooting technical issues, assisting with network triaging, organizing and facilitating capacity planning activities of hardware deliveries, and rack configurations with team members and stakeholders. Duties needed of this role: * Receiving hardware and unpacking, checking and validating shipments in via Service Now tool * Breakdown and disposal of shipping materials and packaging * Assist with racking & cabling of lab servers * Assist with uncabling & unracking of lab servers * Administration work such as updating serial numbers, rack locations, warranty information, ownership, etc in our dcTrack Asset tool * Moving Hardware such as switches, cables, boxes, etc * Assist system administrators with break/fix troubleshooting in the labs * Respond to engineering requests through the ticketing system * General cleanup of lab area and random tasks as required in assisting associate administrators and engineers * Organizing storage areas * Processing e-waste hardware for proper recycle disposal, packing securely in palletized containers for shipment to recycler facility *Top Skills Details* * Experience with Lab and DC operations * Prior experience in computer operations, system administration, or a closely related area. * Knowledge of or experience with Linux or UNIX * Ability to lift, carry, squat, and bend; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment * Good work ethic and an ability to learn and quickly grasp technical concepts (there will, however, be people on hand for guidance) * Good interpersonal communication skills and capable of explaining simple procedures both verbally and in writing * Excellent verbal and written customer service skills * Detail oriented and thorough when following procedures, as well as able to follow verbal and written instructions *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.57/hr.
