Job Summary
Plans, organizes, evaluates, controls and directs all functions of the Diagnostic Imaging department including: Computerized Tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine, Special Procedures, Radiography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Ultrasound, and Support Services. Coordinates and implements Diagnostic Imaging programs, policies and procedures and assumes the responsibility for ensuring that all programs meet hospital accreditation standards and regulatory compliance. Directs the delivery of patient care, ensuring that patient care is provided according to established standards of care and practice.
Essential Functions
  • Plans, prepares, implements, and monitors assigned areas' operational and capital budget to ensure sound fiscal management consistent with the goals of Corewell Health. Oversees staffing and resource allocation to meet productivity targets and patient care needs. Develops programs and collaborative strategies to enhance growth and revenue for service areas. Directs all radiological services through the management and direction of both human and financial resources allocated to the Radiology department while maintaining and enhancing the revenue generating capabilities and technological advancements of these departments.
  • Creates a climate of effective collaboration, communication, and cooperation among a variety of disciplines, departments, and roles. Effectively collaborates and strongly influences all levels of the organization. Anticipates customer needs and serves as a liaison to all customers: Radiologists, referring physicians, patients, hospital departments, and other health care facilities. Actively markets
  • Supports research that promotes evidence-based, clinically effective patient outcomes. Assists identification of trends and competencies in Radiology. Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity, which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as a precedent for future decisions.
  • Develops and maintains quality monitoring system to continuously monitor and measure the quality, safety and outcomes of Radiology services. Participates in and facilitates interdisciplinary performance initiatives. Participates in the development and review of policies, procedures and guidelines based on evidence-based practice, research findings, and Corewell Health quality outcomes.
  • Creates a climate of effective collaboration, communication, and cooperation among a variety of disciplines, departments, and roles. Collaborates with peers, managers and staff to encourage and unify interdisciplinary teams, in order to provide the exceptional patient/customer experience.
  • Participate in strategic planning and implementation of process improvement initiatives in Radiology modalities/departments. Assist in the development of short and long-term goals related to process improvement assuring projects are aligning with Radiology strategy and capital planning. Ensures process improvement activities align with the Radiology department's vision and goals, and Corewell Health's core values, mission and strategy. Manages the elements of the ODS process (people, quality, cost, value and projects)
  • Collects, enters, reviews and analyzes Radiology department data and works with modality leaders towards process improvement. Develops and runs reports as needed. Benchmarks external sources and integrates findings into operational and strategic planning.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or related health field
  • 10 years of relevant health care experience
  • 5 years of relevant progressively responsible leadership experience
  • Experience working in an organization of size and complexity comparable to Corewell Health.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree
  • Regional and/or system level hospital experience
  • CRT-At least one License and/or Certification in area of specialty
