Join the 92NY Adventure Clubhouse Team!

Are you passionate about working with young children and creating a fun, engaging summer experience?

Join 92NY Athletics' Adventure Clubhouse, a 7-week summer camp for children ages 3-5. Be part of a welcoming, family-focused community where both staff and families thrive.

Camp runs June 30th - August 15th (closed July 4th), with mandatory training sessions June 23rd - June 26th from 4:00-7:00 PM. Additional training may be added as needed. Free CPR certification is available for counselors!

Flexible scheduling:

    Half-day counselors: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Full-day counselors: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Summer camp counselors can extend their experience beyond the summer with year-round work opportunities, including Mini-Camps during school breaks, weekend birthday parties, and coaching gymnastics classes.

Training provided, but experienced teachers and coaches are encouraged to apply.

We are hiring for multiple roles to fit different experience levels:

Lead Counselor - Experienced teachers who have led a classroom of 3-5-year-olds.

Assistant Counselor - Individuals currently pursuing a teaching degree or recent graduates with extensive experience working with young children.

Junior Counselor - High school or college students with some childcare experience who are looking to gain more hands-on experience.



Job Responsibilities Include

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children in your group (10-18 campers per group).
  • Collaborate respectfully with counselors at different experience levels.
  • Implement engaging, age-appropriate activities, and curriculum.
  • Support campers' social and emotional development.
  • Attend all required training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and report any concerns to a supervisor promptly.
  • Create a welcoming, positive atmosphere for campers and their families.
  • Facilitate indoor and outdoor play, ensuring activities are fun and safe.
  • Encourage and model positive behavior, helping children develop confidence, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Assist with daily transitions, including arrival, dismissal, snack time, and rest periods.
  • Recognize and respond to individual needs of children, offering additional support when necessary.
  • Keep camp spaces clean, organized, and safe for all campers and staff.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining patience and enthusiasm.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates and ensuring a smooth camp experience.


Experience, Education, & Skills Desired

  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred, especially in Early Childhood Education.
  • Prior camp counseling or teaching experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with children ages 3-5 strongly desired.
  • Jr Counselor position- Working papers required.
  • CPR certification required within 6 months of hire (free certification available through 92NY).


Work Environment & Requirements

22.5 - 35 hours/week.

Per Diem Compensation Range

$16.50 - $27.00/hour

The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
