uafs.edu/ced Summary of Job Duties:The Director of the UAFS Center for Nonprofits (CNP) is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and operational management of the Center, a key initiative within the UAFS Center for Economic Development (CED). The Director will lead efforts to strengthen the capacity, sustainability, and impact of nonprofit organizations in the River Valley region. This position reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Economic & Workforce Development. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, or community development.
  • Proven success in developing and managing nonprofit programs, fundraising initiatives, and stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Master's degree in Nonprofit Management, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education, economic development, or nonprofit consulting.
  • Knowledge of Arkansas's nonprofit ecosystem and funding landscape.
  • Familiarity with technology solutions for nonprofit management.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Program Development

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the UAFS Center for Nonprofits to support nonprofit growth and sustainability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with nonprofit leaders, government agencies, and funders.
  • Lead fundraising and grant development efforts to secure long-term financial sustainability.
  • Advocate for policy changes and public awareness initiatives to elevate the nonprofit sector.

Operational Oversight & Fiscal Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring fiscal responsibility and program effectiveness.
  • Track the CNP discretionary and programmatic endowments to support nonprofit initiatives.
  • Track key performance indicators to measure impact and improve programs.
  • Supervise staff and coordinate partnerships with UAFS faculty and student engagement.
  • Design and implement leadership development workshops, professional certifications, and sector-specific training.
  • Create & Oversee a Noncredit Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership, ensuring its alignment with industry needs.
  • Develop and manage webinars, roundtables, and networking events.
  • Develop and facilitate the digital badging program for nonprofit professionals.

Direct Nonprofit Support & Resource Development

  • Create & administer the CNP Mini-Grant Program, providing direct financial support to nonprofits.
  • Guide nonprofits in grant writing, fundraising strategies, and financial sustainability.
  • Implement shared services and technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner with UAFS Social Work Department to integrate research, student internships, and academic expertise.
  • Oversee internship placements for students within regional nonprofits.
  • Facilitate applied research collaborations on community challenges

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attendance and participation in faculty and administrative meetings/events as required.
  • Maintains strong working relationship with faculty and staff.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office/classroom setting. Must be able to travel occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. Required abilities include walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods. Visual demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee regularly talks and hears. Employee occasionally lifts items up to 10 pounds. Routine office hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Salary Information:

$70,000 - $75,000 Commensurate with education and experience.
