SUMMARY
The Business Analyst plays a key role in the ongoing development, optimization, and adoption of the nCino commercial loan origination system. This position will be responsible for gathering and refining requirements, analyzing data for actionable insights, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration to drive product success.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Requirements Gathering & Story Refinement

  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and super users to gather and validate detailed business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories with thorough acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate and support user acceptance testing, including test script development and issue tracking.
  • Escalate significant decisions or roadblocks to the Business Product Owner or relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze workflows and business processes to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Evaluate nCino usage, user feedback, and adoption metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sprint progress, backlog status, adoption metrics, and key product decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to define and track key performance indicators to assess solution effectiveness.

Training & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Act as a subject matter expert during training sessions, offering business context and clarifying requirements as needed.
  • Work closely with training and admin teams to ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials.
  • Collaborate with nCino admins and training team to resolve issues, ensuring stakeholders receive timely updates and clarity.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between nCino admins, training and business product owner for issue escalation and resolution tracking.
  • Provide ongoing end-user support during and after implementation phases

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in banking or software development environments.
  • Familiarity with commercial lending processes; experience with nCino or Salesforce platforms is a strong plus.

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Visio; ability to create documentation, reports, and process flows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Skilled in writing clear business requirements, acceptance criteria, and procedural documentation.
  • Comfortable presenting to mid-level management and responding to questions from internal teams, leadership, and vendors.
