This role resides in the Retirement Solutions business within the Client Solutions Group of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). Retirement Solutions includes our Defined Contribution business, our Retirement Intermediary and Insurance business and a dedicated large market retirement distribution effort. Within Defined Contribution, our primary offerings span investment products across the asset class spectrum (DCIO), advisory/OCIO services and digital advice/managed accounts.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an Associate to support the development of relationships in the Retirement Solutions Business across multiple lines of business, client types, and asset classes. The Associate will focus on partnering with senior sales professionals on the team to engage our client's investment research and due diligence teams across various business lines including variable annuities, retirement recordkeeping platform, subadvised mutual funds, families and executive benefits platforms. Additionally, the Associate will partner with the Strategic Accounts team to execute Product Development, Distribution Strategy and Marketing/Thought Leadership initiatives in order to drive lasting commercial impact. We require a candidate that has a demonstrated history of success in investment sales support, has aspirations of investment sales and is hard-working, commercial and client-friendly. Experience with the Retail Insurance client base is preferred but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Partner to support senior sales professionals across Platform Development in the ongoing management of existing client relationships and the goal of identifying and delivering new business opportunities.
  • Produce high quality deliverables for internal stakeholders and external clients through a keen focus on attention to detail.
  • Conduct industry research and partner to position GSAM investment solutions, create value-add content and marketing materials, and coordinate RFI/DDQs to support sales and partnership efforts.
  • Partner with senior sales team to coordinate and contribute to in-person and virtual meetings with clients to position the full suite of GS Asset Management investment solutions, with attention to diligent meeting notes and ownership of follow-up items.
  • Engage with broader Retirement Solutions client relationship teams, including Key Account Managers and Field Wholesalers, to further sales efforts with leading client's investment due diligence, sales and distribution, and marketing teams to establish, maintain, and grow relationships across the annuity and retirement markets.
  • Collaborate and develop connectivity with internal teams across the Firm to source and deliver multi-asset, equity, fixed income, and alternative solutions to our clients.
  • Develop complete understanding and appreciation of the Goldman Sachs value proposition, which includes market insights, value-add content, and distribution-focused marketing strategy to deliver the firm when engaging with clients.
  • Support the creation and maximization of sales and revenue opportunities within base of clients.



QUALIFICATIONS



  • Minimum 3+ years of work experience
  • Demonstrated history of commercial impact and success
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of success within a complex sales environment
  • Investment sales support experience required
  • Series 7 and 63 required

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
