Pay: $90,000-110,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between management and employees, addressing employee questions, interpreting contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems.

  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, and recommend necessary changes.

  • Handle staffing duties, including managing understaffing, resolving disputes, conducting terminations, and administering disciplinary procedures.

  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives.

  • Identify staffing needs and oversee the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of applicants.

  • Supervise and coordinate the work activities of subordinates related to employment, compensation, and employee relations.

  • Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings, investigations, and external engagements.

  • Administer compensation, benefits, performance management systems, and safety/recreation programs.

  • Provide current and prospective employees with information on policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotions and benefits.

  • Analyze statistical data and reports to identify personnel issues, providing recommendations for improvements in policies and practices.

  • Maintain HRIS records, compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data, including hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism.

  • Analyze training needs and design employee development, language training, and health and safety programs.

  • Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.

  • Oversee the evaluation, classification, and rating of occupations and job positions.

  • Prepare personnel forecasts to project employment needs and ensure appropriate resource allocation.

  • Study legislation to assess industry trends and ensure adherence to legal and industry standards.

  • Develop or manage special projects such as pay equity, savings bond programs, daycare, and employee awards.

  • Investigate and report on industrial accidents to insurance carriers.

  • Contract with external vendors to provide employee services as needed.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in human resources, with specific experience in management.

  • Certification: PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    • Strong written and oral communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.

    • Knowledge of HR principles and procedures, including recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations, negotiation, and personnel information systems.

    • Familiarity with business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and human resources modeling.


    Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
